It has been said that a mans worth is not how he lived but what he has left behind. The same can be said for a dog. In this breed or any breed, as AKC states the only reason for the sport of conformation is to advance the study, breeding, exhibiting, running and maintenance of a purebred dog. Exhibiting ringside one's breeding stock is certainly one of the purposes for an exhibitor to participate in the sport of conformation. No matter how many awards you take home, if the sire cannot produce a good specimen of the breed then he has no value. Most litters have several wonderful companions that go to loving homes. There is great joy in that but clearly that is not the reason to breed.
This story is about one the most influential Siberians in the 21st century. Unquestionably, CH Innisfree's Chips Ahoy will go down in modern history as one of the Siberians of this century to make one of the largest contributions to the breed as a Stud Dog. To date, he sired over 60 Champions. Chip was awarded by Pedigree and AKC "Top Producer" collectively for seven years.

I fell in love with Chip due to his fantastic temperment, while visiting at Sharon's. On one trip back there, there was this delightful puppy trotting back and forth and it was a Chip kid, and I was lucky enough for Sharon to let him come home with me.

Over the years I have come to see this wonderful dog prove himself genetically influential and dominant for these remarkable qualities; wonderful temperament and outstanding breed type. These qualities are now hallmarks of his progeny. As one of the Top Sire's of all time, Chip has definitely made an impact on the breed.

We got our first Siberian from Sharon because we fell in love with Chip and the quality of Siberians he was producing. He produced type, balance and great moving kids. Chip has made a big impact in our breeding program and will continue to do so for years to come.

There were Siberians of this century that had more accolades but no Siberian drew a bigger crowd. To anyone in the breed he is known as "Chip" and "Chip" is recognized worldwide. He continues to
impact and influence pedigrees both domestically and internationally. Clearly, it is not the amount of Siberians that he produced but the quality that he produced.
The proof of a good stud dog is that he produces better than himself. And Chip did just that. As a stud his resume included multi Group placing, Best in Show, Best in Show Specialty and Award of Merit recipients at Nationals.

Chip died at his home on February 1, 2006 at the age of 12. Chip died with his family present, without pain and in peace. Anyone that knew him knows he lived life as a king. Happy, well fed and traveling with the woman he loved most.
"It is not the honor that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind."

I believe Chip was a popular stud dog mainly because he produced beautiful typey Siberians. There are alot of top ranked dogs with big records that cannot produce quality. This was not the case with Chip. I have been in Chip's company and he was a real sweetie. His temperament spoke volumes. Youngsters could be in the house and he was cool with it. He loved playing with his toys up until the end.
