A new Illustrated Standard is being worked up, with over 80 long-time SHCA members being part of the process. There are hundreds of years of experience behind the project, and thousands of dollars already pledged in support of the project. Would you like to be part it? Here's your chance!
Be Part of Siberian Husky History. This collaborative effort will be handed off to a professional illustrator, layout design editor and printer, and the result will be a beautiful educational tool of use to Siberian Husky judges, prospective judges, breeders, fanciers and the Siberian Husky-owning public. You can be one of only 50 Lead Dogs in this project, too!
"Until July 15th, SHCA members who wish to become Lead Dogs can financially support this project in exchange for recognition in the finished product. After July 15th, the Lead Dog project is open to anyone who wishes to support this project, but there's a limit of 50. Once we reach 50 Lead Dogs, the opportunity to be recognized in this way ends."
We are offering 50 people and area clubs the opportunity to financially support this project in exchange for recognition in the finished product. One-time donations of $500 will earn a listing in the SHCA Illustrated Standard, rather like Patrons are listed in theatre programs. Your listing is limited to 45 spaces. Plus, donors get the first chance to own a special edition of the Illustrated Standard, produced only for the 50 Lead Dogs, plus one for a future SHCA auction and one for the Archives. This special edition will only be printed once, and being a Lead Dog ensures that you get one.
Donations can be made to the SHCA Trust, earmarked for the Illustrated Standard Project, making the donations tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Let us know of your desire to be a Lead Dog now, and send your $500 donation in by September 1, 2010. Donations should be mailed to Jan Ahlgren at the address below. Please include an email address along with your donation.
Please be part of this piece of Siberian Husky history. Your support will positively impact the quality of our breed for decades to come.
Sincerely,
Sandy Weaver Carman
